Magnet based generator with integrated solid state ignition. Output 12V/70W AC and 12V/180W with DC regulator. Replaces the complete old magneto system. The 1973 Yamaha RT3/360 has a 138mm rotor/44mm height (all DT/RT models from 1968-1973 are the same) and weighs 1.7kg. Considering the 1.95kg rotor is slightly smaller diameter but a little heavier, the moment of inertia would feel almost identical to the original rotor. Solid state, maintenance free, electronic ignition. There is no need for changes to the engine casing. Ignition mounted pictures shows heavy rotor installed.
All AC systems are made for use in offroad sports and neither support battery charging nor side indicators. You may therefore not normally use it on public roads (unless your local regulations permit). Consult your local road traffic regulations for use in these situations. Should you need side indicators and/or battery, choose the DC option of the system.
Advantage over original system:
This is a complete system including flywheel (rotor 1.9kg), stator, Coil-CDI, Regulator (AC or DC), adapter mounting plate, spark wire with plug cap, rotor puller & all mounting hardware. Compare with lighter rotor (1kg) model in related items.
